Access individual pay journeys under the NHS terms and conditions of service for the three-year 2018 deal using our online tool.
This pay tool was designed specifically for the three years of the 2018 pay deal and will remain available to use as retrospective tool for this purpose.
The tool will not be updated when the pay values for 1 April 2021 onwards are known.
The tool shows staff their individual pay journey through the three years of the pay deal, demonstrating annual cost of living increases in April, and pay progression through the pay system. Users will still be able to enter an indicative cost of living award to provide an estimate, for illustrative purposes, on how pay values may increase from 1 April 2021 onwards.
You will need the following information to use this tool:
- Staff employed on or before 31 March 2018: pay band, spine point at 31 March 2018, and the month started in band (the pay step month)
- Staff employed on or after 1 April 2018: starting year, pay band, years of experience, and the month started in band (the pay step month)
If you are unsure what the spine point at 31 March 2018 was, you can use our spine point table to help.
The documents below contain information for each pay point on all pay bands, which compares the pay proposals with what individuals might have otherwise received. This comparative information is based on a 1 per cent per annum cost of living award, and the assumption that annual increments would continue and that all individuals would progress every year. This information is provided for the three years of the proposed deal.
