Stage 4: Refresher training

This training programme is designed for practitioners who are regularly engaged in job evaluation work and wish to refresh their knowledge.

Refresher training is designed for practitioners who have previously completed JE training and are now regularly engaged in job evaluation work.

Refresher courses should be repeated every three to five years in order for practitioners to feel up to date with any guidance released by the Job Evaluation Group (JEG) and NHS Employers. 

Course format:

The online one-day refresher training runs from 9:30am until 3pm and is delivered via Zoom.

All participants must attend and actively participate on the day of the training to receive a certificate of completion. Unfortunately, due to the structure of the course content any time missed away from the session will mean we can’t issue that attendance certificate

Course materials:

All course materials will be available on our online learning platform or on the day of the course. For online course, we will email core course material in advance and strongly advise that this is printed out ahead of the course.

Course cost:
£170.00+VAT per person
Payment can be made by debit and credit card or by requesting an invoice, which will incur a 5 per cent admin charge on top of the training fees.

If you would like to commission a course for your organisation you will need to complete a request form.
If you don't have enough staff to fill a course, you may want to consider running it jointly with a neighbouring organisation.
This training can be delivered either online or in person. Course materials will need to be printed prior to the course. Organisations need to allow additional printing costs for core materials, approximately £280 if printing is done by an external company.
Virtual training requirements:
For commissioned courses we need a minimum of 12 and maximum of 16 participants and we strongly advise that the course is attended by an equal number of management and staff side attendees.
The cost of commissioned one-day job matching refresher training course is £2,000+VAT.

In-person training requirements:
For commissioned courses we need a minimum of 12 and maximum of 20 participants and we strongly advise that the course is attended by an equal number of management and staff side attendees.
A training room is required for the course, to be set up cabaret style The room must have desks/tables available and flipcharts. There must also be provision for breakout groups – ideally at least one room separate to the training room.
A PC/laptop connected to a projector/screen will need to be available in the main training room for the duration of the course.
The cost of commissioned one-day job matching refresher training course is £2,000+VAT+Trainer expenses. Please note an additional £1,000 allowance to cover accommodation, travel and food expenses is recommended.
