Who should attend?

The session is suitable for anyone who works in the NHS with responsibility for engaging with DBS processes and legislation within their organisation, including those who:

  • decide on levels of checks to be applied for
  • carry out recruitment or manage staff in regulated activity
  • have responsibility for safeguarding.

On 4 June we hosted the first in a series of three webinars, in partnership with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

The workshop provided an opportunity to learn more about the different levels of DBS checks and how to determine eligibility for different roles.

Topics covered:

• The benefits of DBS and your organisation working together.

• The different levels of DBS checks available.

• Eligibility, and when an employee or volunteer is eligible for a particular level of check.

• What ‘regulated activity’ is.

• What the DBS Update Service is, and its benefits.

• Other safer recruitment practices that can be in place and how DBS checks form a part of these.
