Archived job profiles for health visiting roles

Due to changes to the educational standards required for entry onto part three of the Nursing and Midwifery Council’s register, two national job matching profiles from the health visiting profile suite have been archived.
In January 2023, the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) updated its education programme standards for nursing and midwifery. These changes affect entry onto part three of the NMC register, requiring all new registrants to hold a masters level qualification.
As a result, several national job matching profiles are no longer aligned with the updated educational requirements. This means that panels will no longer be able to match to the profiles as they are currently written.
To reflect this change, the Job Evaluation Group (JEG) has taken the decision to archive the following national job matching profiles from the health visiting profile suite:
- Health visitor – band 6
- Health visitor team manager – band 7

JEG has issued a statement explaining the rationale for archiving these profiles and outlining the next steps. Employers are asked to submit evaluated JAQs, job descriptions and evaluation reports for health visitor roles to inform JEGs next steps. Please email relevant documentation to us.
