New pay scale introduced for dental educators

A new dedicated pay scale has been introduced for dental educators, reflecting the distinct pay arrangements for this staff group.

The new scale includes a 3.75 per cent increase to basic pay from 1 April 2026 and has been created separately on ESR so dental educators can be paid using the correct rates.

The medical and dental pay circular 1-2026 has been updated to reflect this change, with the new dental educator scale set out in Annex A, Section 6.
