Resident doctors vote for industrial action in latest BMA ballot

The British Medical Association (BMA) has confirmed that resident doctors in England have voted in favour of industrial action.

Today (8 July 2025), the British Medical Association (BMA) has announced the results of the national ballot for industrial action following demands for pay restoration for resident doctors in England.

Resident doctors in England have voted in favour of industrial action.

The ballot was open from 27 May to 7 July 2025.

The result grants the BMA a six-month mandate for industrial action, covering the period from 21 July 2025 to 7 January 2026.
