SAS charter evaluation toolkit

An online evaluation toolkit to help employers to check progress in meeting and implementing the principles of the SAS Charter.

27 September 2019

Use this online toolkit to assess progress and use the findings to develop an action plan to implement the principles of the SAS Charter in the short, medium and long term.

The SAS charter evaluation toolkit is an online resource which is organised into different sections to check your progress in meeting and implementing the principles of the SAS Charter.

It will help organisations:

  • assess their progress in implementing the charter for specialty and associate specialist (SAS) doctors
  • identify areas requiring improvement
  • create an action plan.

Who should complete this?

It should be completed by members of your trust's local negotiating committee using the data collected, via our new SAS Charter monitoring tool (PDF), from clinical departments within the organisation.

This process should be repeated regularly to track improvements and identify where further development is needed in the short, medium and long term.

How will the results be used?

The findings should be used to develop an action plan to implement the principles of the SAS Charter in the short, medium and long term.
