NHS organisations provide some of the most comprehensive and attractive employment packages available in the UK. They have flexibility in the application of the national frameworks and an increasing degree of local flexibility to vary terms and approaches. 

NHS organisations can distinguish themselves in today's competitive employment market by adopting a clearly defined reward approach. We have produced a suite of tools and resources to support organisations in their approach to reward and communications. 

Included in the reward package are pay, job evaluation and the national contractual provisions. We have a national pay system for non-medical NHS staff known as the NHS terms and conditions of service (Agenda for Change) for the UK. The NHS terms and conditions of service (NHS TCS) sets out the contractual provisions for example annual leave and unsocial hours, which form part of the total reward package.
