Explore key dates and events across the year which present an opportunity for your organisation to publicly demonstrate its commitment to supporting the Armed Forces community.

Armed Forces Week and Reserves Day

Armed Forces Week is a national celebration of the Armed Forces, organised by the Ministry of Defence. This year’s campaign will run from Monday 20 June 2022 to Sunday 26 June 2022.

Armed Forces week presents an excellent opportunity to make a public demonstration of your support of the Armed Forces community. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, face-to-face activities may not be possible, but you can still celebrate virtually by hosting virtual events and running social media campaigns.

Military March

Military March is a month-long annual celebration of the partnership between the Armed Forces and the NHS and aims to highlight the value that members of the Armed Forces community bring to the NHS.

Our campaign hopes to give insight into the lives of members of the Armed Forces community who recently entered into NHS employment and raise awareness of Armed Forces reservists and other members of the community who are currently working within the NHS.

Our 2021 campaign saw a host of new resources published, including:

  • a new animation clarifying what it means to be a member of the Armed Forces community
  • a new infographic guiding NHS organisations on how they might begin, or advance, their journey to becoming a forces-friendly employer
  • a new article written for the British Forces Broadcasting Service on job roles which you might not expect to find within the NHS

The highlight of our 2021 campaign was our second NHS and the Armed Forces conference, which saw over 400 individuals from across the two services come together to explore the partnership between the NHS and the Armed Forces.
